Shohei Ohtani Rumors: MLB Insider Says Dodgers are Favorites for Two-Way Superstar

Will LA land the biggest show in baseball this winter?
In this story:

The winter of two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani is officially underway, and in just a few short days, teams will be able to negotiate with him. Ohtani reportedly doesn’t care about location but rather is solely focused on winning at the highest level.

He hasn’t reached the playoffs in his career yet, and he is expected to leave the Angels organization in search of greener pastures. Enter in the Dodgers.

They have long wanted him to wear Dodger Blue, and they will have their chance to make it happen again this offseason. It’s no secret that LA is readying themselves to make an all-out aggressive run to land him, and they seem to have a good chance at doing just that.

MLB insider Ken Rosenthal added some fuel to the fire recently during his appearance on the Foul Territory show when he expressed his belief about Ohtani. His comments will likely make Dodgers fans even more excited than they already were.

"The Dodgers, I still believe, are the favorites for Ohtani."

The Dodgers have been the favorites for Ohtani for some time now, and while that doesn’t guarantee anything, they are in a good place. They can offer him both the winning team that he so badly wants, and the financial compensation that it will take to land him.

Ohtani just fits in Los Angeles well, and he is already comfortable in Southern California. All he would need to do is switch out his red Angels jersey, for a blue Dodgers one.

Despite him not being available to pitch in 2024, his bat alone is worth the team going after him. He is expected to return to the mound in 2025 after he recovers from his UCL tear.

This is the Dodgers chance to land the biggest show in baseball, and they can’t let it slip away from them. The fans are expecting Ohtani, and if they can land him, it would fully reenergize the fanbase.
