Shohei Ohtani Was Aware of Flight Tracking, Confirms Where He Was During Crazy Day

The Los Angeles Dodgers held a press conference on Thursday introducing Shohei Ohtani, and he looks amazing in Dodger blue. 

As a 1 of 1 player, everyone wanted Ohtani to be part of their team. Thankfully, Ohtani chose Los Angeles to play for the next 10 years.

During his introduction, Ohtani showed that he puts his pants on one leg at a time just like the rest of us. He told Kirsten Watson of SportsNetLA that he knew about the flight tracking regarding the flight from Anaheim to Toronto last week.

Shohei Ohtani told @kirsten_watson of @SportsNetLA that he was aware of all the flight tracking during his free agency and had people texting him asking if he was, in fact, on a flight to Toronto.

With such a quiet free agency process, everyone clamored to find any crumb that could hint at Ohtani's landing spot. One such piece of information was a flight scheduled for early Friday morning, leaving Anaheim and destined for Toronto.

Toronto, at the time, was seen as a frontline contender to land the two-way superstar. After Ohtani met with the Blue Jays, seeing a flight from Anaheim to Toronto sparked speculation about where he would sign.

It got to the point that people were tracking the flight in real-time via a flight tracker. In a hilarious turn of events, the passenger on this flight was none other than Robert Herjavec of Shark Tank.

On Thursday, during the much-anticipated introduction, Shohei provided some comedic relief revealing to Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA that he knew about the flight.

It's not groundbreaking news, but bits of information that allow fans to relate to the player. While admiring him from the seats or on television, we can all appreciate him a little more knowing we have something in common.
