SF Giants reliever John Brebbia steals the show on Sunday Night Baseball

David Cone learned live during ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball broadcast of the SF Giants and Rockies game on Sunday that John Brebbia loves some hijinks.

The SF Giants cruised past the Colorado Rockies in a 6-3 victory on Sunday night. But while fans got to enjoy rookie Keaton Winn (Giants Top 9 Prospect) rack up a career-high nine strikeouts alongside a trio of home runs, nothing was more entertaining than Giants reliever John Brebbia's interview with David Cone from the bullpen during the fourth and fifth inning of ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball broadcast.

"This isn't a game to us, David," Brebbia deadpanned to Cone at one of the many highlights from the conversation. "This is all business all the time, all serious. We'll talk stocks. We'll talk agrarian cultures and the rise and fall of empires, but we'll never play games that's one thing I can promise you."

The circumstances surrounding the segment were a bit out of wack. Cone, the former All-Star pitcher turned broadcaster, had an earpiece in, and Brebbia did not but was seemingly unable to hold both conversations at once. He mostly asked Brebbia the same questions he had asked Giants reliever Luke Jackson prior and did not seem to have any specific questions for Brebbia.

Brebbia told Giants Baseball Insider that he had no idea he was going to be featured prior to the game. He assumed Cone was simply going to film a segment in the bullpen while the relievers went about their normal routine in the background. Then, when Cone was interviewing Jackson, he was told he was going to be featured next.

Luckily for viewers, Brebbia does not need much warning to have an entertaining conversation. He is consistently one of the chattiest players in the clubhouse. Earlier this season, Brebbia joked that he was disappointed he wasn't going to throw 200 innings after landing on the injured list, referring to the fact that he had recently been starting games for the Giants as an opener. Another time, he joined manager Gabe Kapler during his pregame radio show with Jon Miller without prompting.

John Brebbia has appeared in 31 games for the SF Giants this season, recording a 3.23 ERA across 30.2 innings. His role with the team has shifted between late-inning relief and being an opener. However, it's hard to imagine him giving fans a more memorable moment than his interview with Cone on Sunday Night Baseball.
