The Cleveland Guardians have had their fair share of injuries to some key pitchers early on in the season. Yes, they've had prospects such as Logan Allen and Tanner Bibee get the call-up and look fantastic, but it'll still be nice to have a fully healthy rotation and bullpen.

That's something the Guardians are getting closer to getting as Chris Antonetti provided an injury update on Sunday.

Triston McKenzie

Triston McKenzie has already been at the Arizona training facility for some time now working on his return. The next step for the right-hander will be to throw a live bullpen on Thursday.

McKenzie has yet to make his season debut in 2022 after he was pulled from his final Spring Training start just days before Opening Day. He was then diagnosed with right teres major muscle strain.

Aaron Civale

Aaron Civale is scheduled to fly out to Arizona to join McKenzie on Sunday night. From there he'll throw a live bullpen session on Tuesday. The plan after that is for him to throw a simulated game sometime next weekend.

Civale made two starts in April before heading to the IL with a left oblique strain. He pitched well in both starts and has an ERA of 2.84 over 12.2 innings pitched.

Cody Morris

Remember Cody Morris? He was the pitcher who made his way into Cleveland's rotation at the back end of 2022 and had showed some promise. However, he's also yet to make his season debut because of injury.

Morris threw an inning in an extended game and according to Antonetti that, "went well" and "all the reports are really good." Morris will continue to ramp up to the game level from here.

Antonetti did not give a specific timetable for a return to the Big League level for any of these players. So, we'll have to wait a little while longer to see them in a Guardians uniform.

However, the positive is that there were no reports of any setbacks for any of these players.
