The Cleveland Guardians continue to make moves to supplement the Big League roster. On Friday they recalled Brayan Rocchio who started at shortstop, and now they'll have a new pitcher ready to make their Guardians debut.

Michael Kelly To Make Guardians Debut

Another Minor League pitcher has had their contract selected by the Guardians. Michael Kelly will join the team and will be ready to make his Big League debut in Minnesota.

Kelly has made 18 appearances with the Columbus Clippers this season after spending 2022 with the Philadelphia Phillies.

In those games, he's put up a 1.61 ERA over 22.1 innings pitched. 18 of those appearances have ended in a save, so Kelly is used to pitching in high-leverage situations.

Hunter Gaddis Optioned To Triple-A

Hunter Gaddis was called back up to bridge the gap between Peyton Battenfield's injury and the return of Aaron Civale and Tirston McKenzie. Gaddis pitched well against the White Sox on May 22, however, did not follow that up with a great outing.

Gaddis has been optioned back down to Triple-A where he'll continue to see what his pro career has in store for him.

Peyton Battenfield To 60-Day IL

Peyton Battenfield is another pitcher on the long list of players who have gone on the injured list. He was originally placed on the 15-Day IL with right shoulder inflammation but now finds himself on the 60-Day IL.

Battenfield has made seven starts for the Guardians this season posting an ERA of 5.19. He's still looking for his first career win as a starter and has a high ERA, but Battendfield has still shown flashes of potential.

But for now, he'll need to focus on getting healthy and back on the mound.
