The Cleveland Guardians were on the ropes of something that hasn't happened to them all season. That is being swept by another team. The Chicago White Sox had a chance to do this to the Guardians on Thursday, but Cleveland prevailed and made sure it didn't happen.

Logan Allen set that tone early as Cleveland's starting pitcher. He gave up one run and one walk in 5.2 innings pitched while striking out five in the process. Allen did put himself in a little trouble but was also able to get himself out of it.Gabri

Nick Sandlin also deserves some credit for pitching 1.1 innings of perfect relief. Sandlin has silently had a strong month of May as he's appeared in five games and hasn't allowed a run.

They were able to outscore the White Sox to get the win, but that doesn't mean they were perfect the entire night. Chicago still out-hit the Guardians on offense, but Cleveland was the team that delivered the big blow in the finale.

The star of the show at the plate in this game was Gabriel Arias who proved why he should be getting more playing time. Arias was 2-for-4 which included a home run off of left-handed ace Dylan Cease which broke the 1-1 tie at the time.

Arias has struggled at the plate for much of the season which could very well have to do with inconsistent playing time. He clearly still has the potential to be a big bat in the lineup and that was shown off today.

How about a clutch RBI hit from a catch too?! It's no secret that the Guardians are looking for some sort of production at the plate from their catcher. Cam Gallagher knocked in Arias in the seventh inning which gave Cleveland a two-run lead heading into the home stretch.

Cleveland no flies to New York to take on the Mets where they'll get a chance to see some familiar faces this weekend!
