The series may not have gone the Cleveland Guardians' way, but they did wrap it up in style with a win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. This wasn't just a win, it was a 12-3 rout that ended with the D-Backs throwing a position player on the mound to close out the game.

The Guardians wasted no time getting on the board as they dropped two runs in the first inning thanks to Jose Ramirez and Josh Naylor.

The big inning which put Cleveland over the top was the fourth when the team scored six runs. Cleveland batted around and poured it on Arizona as Steven Kwan, Josh Naylor, Andres Gimenez, Tyler Freeman, and Will Brennan all drove in runs.

In the end, nine of Cleveland's 13 players who appeared recorded a hit. The only starter who couldn't find some grass was Bo Naylor who was 0-for-4 with a walk in his first career start.

Also, Jose, Amed Rosario, and Gimenez all hit triples in the game as Cleveland now leads the league in that category.

After the game, Freeman admitted that the team was frustrated about how the road trip went. He went on to say, "The last day, we put the reset button on and came out swinging."

The Guardians head home with a 2-4 record following the West Coast trip to San Diego and Arizona. Cleveland may have dropped a couple of series, but they are still just 2.5 games back of the Minnesota Twins.

The Oakland A's and Milwaukee Brewers are Cleveland's next two matchups which gives them a great opportunity to get back on track.
