Guardians Top Performers In Tie With The Texas Rangers

Josh Naylor and Oscar Gonzalez gave the Cleveland Guardians an offensive boost as they tied with the Texas Rangers.

The Cleveland Guardians recorded their second tie of Spring Training as they ended in a five-run draw against the Texas Rangers. The Guardians had a nice lead until they allowed Texas to score four runs in the seventh to even it up.

Even though no team truly won this game, the Guardians did have a number of players who stood out on the field.

Josh Naylor

There hasn't been too much attention on Josh Naylor this spring and there should be way more talk about what he's doing. Naylor is currently hitting .342 with a .705 OPS in the Cactus League.

Naylor went three-for-three against the Rangers with two RBI including an absolute moonshot of a two-run homer. The entire stadium knew it was gone the moment it left the bat. It would be long before he's doing this again at Progressive Field.

Oscar Gonzalez

Oscar Gonzalez has seen better days at the plate than the at-bats he's been putting together during Cactus League play. However, Cleveland's game against the Rangers could be a sign he's starting to turn it around.

Gonzalez was a perfect three-for-three in the box and even came around to score two of the Guardians' two runs. He's still batting just .194 during Spring Training, but this game is definitely something to build off of.
