Shane Bieber Excluded From Newest Cleveland Guardians Tickets Ad

Cleveland's ace pitcher and one of the team's longest tenured players was not featured in the Guardians' newest ad for 2024 single-game tickets.

Even with plenty of MLB offseason still on the way, teams are already advertising ticket deals for next season.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Cleveland Guardians posted an advertisement on X for single game tickets, which include tickets for their 2024 home-opener, which is 131 days away.

The advertisement included photos of multiple stars on the team, including back-to-back American League Gold Glove winner Steven Kwan, five-time MLB All-Star José Ramírez, and starting pitcher Triston McKenzie.

However, notably absent was the Guardians’ ace pitcher, 2020 AL Cy Young winner Shane Bieber.

Cleveland’s newest social media advertisement for tickets comes just one day after it was reported that two teams have engaged in trade conversations for Bieber.

Now correlation does not mean causation. Just because the two-time MLB All-Star is not included in the advertisement does not mean that Bieber is on the move.

2023 AL Platinum Glove winner and 2022 MLB All-Star Andrés Giménez was not featured in the advertisement either, and he is in the midst of a seven-year contract with the Guardians.

Also not in the advertisement was Emmanuel Clase, who has led MLB in saves and been named an All-Star each of the past two seasons. Clase is also in the midst of a five-year contract with Cleveland.

This latest advertisement, though, does certainly raise some eyebrows about Bieber’s future with the Guardians.

With MLB’s annual winter meetings beginning this upcoming Sunday, December 3, which are considered the peak of baseball’s “hot stove,” Cleveland fans will be on the lookout to see if Bieber ends up being traded.
