Terry Francona Offers Blunt Reaction To Guardians Offense Against The Tigers
The Cleveland Guardians had a fantastic chance to win their second consecutive series against division opponents. However, that never came to fruition with the team getting blanked in the series finale.
The Guardians finished the day with just four hits. David Fry got on base with her first Big League knock, Tyler Freeman hit a pair of singles, and Gabriel Arias collected a bunt for a hit as well. After that, the offense was nowhere in sight.
The slump has been going on long enough that there are no more excuses that can be made for the offenses' inefficiency.
Terry Francona kept it simple after the game saying that the offense, "didn't do a whole lot."
It may not be the most elaborate or in-depth analysis of a struggling team, but it gets the point across. That bats simply aren't doing anything right now.
What The Rest Of Tito's Postgame Comments Here:
Not only did the team not get hits, but they struggled to make contact too. The only starters to not record a strikeout were Jose Ramirez and Fry. The team struck out 10 times in total with Amed Rosario recording two and Mike Zunino being punched out three times alone.
Cleveland entered the game with a record of 6-18 when they score fewer runs or less. On the other hand, they're 11-2 when they score our or more runs. The blueprint is there for how to win games, but they just haven't been able to execute it.
Even Rick Manning didn't hold back after the game either and echoed what many are already thinking and saying.
"You've got to come out and score runs. No excuses, man."
