Tuesday night down at Progressive Field started the exact same way that Monday night got going. Steven Kwan stepped up to the plate and started the game with a leadoff double.

Kwan came around to score in the first to give his team an early lead. Thankfully the outcome was different on Tuesday as the Cleveland Guardians got back into a win column with a 2-0 win over the Detroit Tigers.

This Is What Terry Francona Had To Say After The Game:

It took a while for the Guardians to score after Kwan crossed home plate in the first inning. Cleveland wouldn't get back on the scoreboard until the eighth inning when Amed Rosario capped off a big four-hit night with an RBI triple scoring Will Brennan.

These two runs were all the Guardians needed to beat the Tigers with Detroit taking their turn to go cold. Much of this had to do with the spectacular start from Shane Bieber.

Cleveland's ace had a couple of difficult starts to get the season going, but he's settling in and returning to his vintage form as the second month of the season gets underway.

Bieber struck out a season-high nine batters on Tuesday proving to be the difference maker between the two teams. It's pretty hard to win when the offense scores just two runs, but that wasn't an issue for him.

You can't talk about this without bringing up the fantastic job that Brennan and Myles Straw did in the outfield. Brennan saved a run as he threw out Javier Baez at home and Straw also saved a run in the seventh inning on a play that

The Guardians now turn their focus to Wednesday afternoon as they'll have an opportunity to win their second consecutive series against division opponents. Peyton Battenfield will take the mound with the first pitch at 1:10 down at Progressive Field.
