Triston McKenzie Scratched From Start Against Diamondbacks
Cleveland Guardians fans were given some not-so-great news as they prepared to watch their team take on the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Triston McKenzie Scratched From Start
Triston McKenzie was scheduled to make his third start of the season on Friday evening. However, the team announced that he was scratched from that start after experiencing "elbow discomfort."
Sticks missed the first two months of the season with a right teres major strain and it's unknown whether there is any connection.
Thankfully, Mckenzie has so far avoided a trip to the injured list, but we know we won't see him pitched for at least a few days.
Touki Toussaint Called Up
In the wake of McKenzie missing his start, the team called up Touki Toussaint from Triple-A to make the start against the D-Backs. Ironically, Toussaint was the 16th overall pick in 2014 by Arizona. He made his debut in 2018 with the Atlanta Braves and has bounced around since then.
Touki owns a career ERA of 5.23 over 57 appearances and 23 starts.
