The Cleveland Guardians have been able to weather the storm, for the most part, considering the number of injuries they have to their starting rotation to start the season. But they're still looking for some consistency in the rotation and he is on the way.

Triston McKenzie has yet to make his season debut as he was diagnosed with a right teres major muscle strain just a few days before the season started.

His rehab at Goodyear included bullpen sessions in which he started with just fastballs but, but worked his way up to offspeed pitches as he progressed. After making all of these strides down in Arizona and will now get his first test against a real opponent.

The right-handed pitcher is scheduled to make a rehab start at Triple-A Columbus this Saturday. The plan is for McKeznie to pitch three innings or 50 pitches. Whichever comes first.

Fingers crossed this start goes well and Dr. Sticks can move on to the next part of his rehab without a hiccup.

Many believed that Mckenzie's 2023 season could be the year where he truly solidifies himself as one of MLB's next pitchers. Guardians fans got a glimpse of it in 2022 when Triston posted a 2.96 ERA with a 0.951 WHIP.

McKenzie's arm will be a welcome addition to the rotation when he's finally ready to go!
