WATCH: Jose Ramirez Blasts Home Run Off Justin Verlander
There hasn't been a whole lot to cheer for this weekend as fans have watched the Cleveland Guardians blow two late leads to the New York Mets. However, nothing warms the heart more than a Jose Ramirez home run!
Ramirez stepped in the box with three-time Cy Young winner Justin Verlander on the mound. Jose has historically hit Verlander pretty well with a split of .333/.421/.606 with an OPS of 1.027 over 33 at-bats coming into Sunday night, per Rotowire.
These stats includ two home runs and five RBI, but Jose added one more to that column in the first inning. Ramirez absolutely obliterated a baseball off of Verlander to give the Guaridans an early lead.

As Hammy said, "Wow, was that majestic!"
Baseball Savant clocked the exit velo on this homer a 106.9 with a staggering distance of 418 feet.
Ramirez hit a go-ahead home run in game one of Sunday's doubleheader, but the team wasn't able to hold on to get the win. Hopefully, this home run will produce a different outcome.
