The start of Tuesday night's game was almost a carbon copy of what happened in the series opener between the Cleveland Guardians and New York Yankees. Unfortunately, this time it ended with the Yankees up on top.

The Guardians jumped all over Gerrit Cole in the bottom of the first inning to score two runs and take an early lead. It appeared that Cleveland had Cole on the ropes thanks to a Jose Ramirez RBI double, but that's where the scoring stopped for Cleveland.

Cleveland was only able to put together seven hits, which isn't going to get it done against a team like the Yankees.

The Yankees went on to score 11 unanswered runs and grabbed the blowout loss. The turning point was the top of the third inning when New York put up five runs capped off by a three-run homer by Franchy Cordero.

Hunter Gaddis started off strong but wasn't able to hold onto that command during the rest of the game. He finished the night with 3.0 innings pitched allowing eight earned runs. He looked great against the Oakland Athletics a week ago but just couldn't find a way to get it done against a stacked lineup such as the Yankees.

Credit does have to be given to Xzavion Curry and Tim Herrin, who in Terry Francona's words, "saved the bullpen" on Tuesday night.

The Guardians will have a chance to take the series tomorrow afternoon with first pitch at 1:10 PM.
