MLB Pipeline Ranks Guardians Farm System As Top 5 In MLB
At this point, the Cleveland Guardians loaded farm system is of no surprise to anyone. For years they've had the reputation of amazing young talent and that was put on the big stage last year when they had 17 players make their Big League debut, and still ended up in the ALCS.
Some things stay the same and the Guardians continue to have one of the best systems in all of baseball heading into 2023.
MLB Pipeline ranked the Cleveland farm system as the fourth best in baseball. This jumped quite a bit from this time last year when they were ranked the 12th-best in the league.
The only teams that are ranked higher than them are the Arizona Diamondbacks at three, Los Angeles Dodgers at two, and the Baltimore Orioles at one.
The Guardians have a number of prospects on MLB Pipeline's Top 100 prospects list as well. This includes Daniel Espino (16), Gavin Williams (42), George Valera (51), Bo Naylor (64), Brayan Rocchio (75), and Chase DeLauter (82).
A lot of these players are itching to make their Big League debut and that could happen for the likes of Espino, Williams, Valera, or Naylor in 2023.
Cleveland clearly has the best farm system in the American League Central as well. The next team in the division closest to the Guardians is the Minnesota Twins who tanked at 19. Then the Detroit Tigers were ranked at 25, Chicago White Sox at 26, and the Kansas City Royals at 29.
The Guardians are looking to repeat as AL Central champs again in 2023 with their already young and stacked Major League roster and their farm system shows that they have nothing but a bright future ahead of them.
