The Miami Marlins will need more offensive production in 2024, and it will need to come from some rising stars.

In 2023, Miami was on the positive side of a lot of one-run games. While the pitching is expected to remain solid for the Marlins, one-run games are unpredictable when looking at a season-wide sample.

Centerfield Jazz Chisholm Jr. is among the players looking to take the Marlins offseason up a notch. Chisolm's health will be a factor as he spent multiple stints on the IL a year ago, missing 43 days with turf toe and 28 with an oblique strain. In an interview with MLB.com's Bill Ladson, he's doing more work off the field to stay healthy during the season.

“This is the first year I actually put in my off-the-field efforts. This is the year for me to be healthy and doing all that stuff. A healthy Jazz is an MVP Jazz,” Chisholm explained. "If I play the games, it would be 30-something home runs. I just don’t play the games. This year I want to play healthy."

Chisolm revealed that he isn't eating fast food anymore and that he's hired a personal chef. He also has a personal physical therapist and has spent the offseason with MLB legend Matt Holliday to work on hitting.

This is his second year as a centerfielder and Chisolm feels more confident in that role than he did a year ago.

“I feel like I’m an actual center fielder this year,” Chisholm told MLB.com. “Last year, I was a shortstop. I’m a center fielder and it’s easier now."
