Did the face of the New York Mets just reveal which team he would prefer to play for next season and beyond?

Mets superstar first baseman Pete Alonso has had to deal with near-daily rumors regarding his future with the team, and has been linked to various potential trades on a regular basis.

The 28-year-old is entering his final year of team control without an extension, leaving fans and media alike attempting to predict his future. After staying relatively silent throughout the process, Alonso might have just made a subtle statement.

Alonso was at the New York Rangers game on Monday, where he sported a "New York or Nowhere" T-shirt under his jacket.

New York Yankees superstar Aaron Judge did the exact same thing late last season amid speculation that he could depart in free agency before ultimately signing a lucrative extension to remain in the Bronx.

Could this shirt mean next to nothing? Absolutely. However, Alonso is well aware of his uncertain status and that his star power would eventually lead him to the jumbotron.

If Alonso had one foot out of the door or was upset that the Mets would even entertain offers for him, the "New York or Nowhere" shirt would not be the first shirt coming out of the closet. Especially as he headed into the public eye.

On a journey that began as a way to receive easy credits via film classes, he received a call from "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" star Charlie Day. Day advised him to make a feature-length film, which he completed his senior year. While writing the film, Neville completed an internship for United Way as part of their NFL Partnership Program. Neville ran the blog for a team of interns and hosted an internet show called "United Way's NFL Partnership Series" where he interviewed NFL alumni. After college Neville wrote for SB Nation's "Over The Monster," a Red Sox sister site of the flagship brand. His work would eventually lead him to a job as a content producer with NESN, where he would cover all sports. After developing as a writer with the top regional network in the world, he was given the opportunity to join FanNation and the Sports Illustrated Media Group as the publisher of "Inside The Red Sox."
