One New York Mets star will be rehabbing for the foreseeable future.

Mets star shortstop Francisco Lindor reportedly underwent surgery Tuesday to remove a bone spur that had been causing him some discomfort throughout the 2023 campaign, according to Metsmerized Online editor-in-chief Mike Mayer.

"Francisco Lindor underwent surgery to remove a bone spur from his right elbow yesterday," Mayer said. "The procedure was performed by Dr. David Altchek in New York City. He is expected to be fully ready for Spring Training."

Lindor had arguably his best seasons as a member of the Mets this year even with the bone spur in his elbow. The 29-year-old appeared in 160 games and slugged 31 home runs while also stealing 31 bases for New York. To go along with this, Lindor logged 33 doubles, drove in 98 runs, and compiled a .254/.336/.470 slash line.

The fact that Lindor will be ready for Spring Training certainly is a welcomed sight. New York is expected to be very busy this offseason but Lindor unsurprisingly is a major part of the club's plans for the foreseeable future. The Mets are expected to be active this offseason and have been connected to big-names like Orix Buffaloes star Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Los Angeles Angels two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani, and Toronto Blue Jays slugger Matt Chapman to name a few.

If Lindor can carry over his momentum from the 2023 campaign into 2024 and the club makes a few solid additions, maybe the Mets can turn things around in the not-so-distant future.

According to SNY's Andy Martino, Lindor dealt with this bone spur the entire 2023 season. He first felt discomfort in the area in Spring Training. This makes his campaign look even more impressive considering the numbers he put up and the amount of games he played.
