The talk of the baseball world right now is the impending Juan Soto trade between the New York Yankees and San Diego Padres. A trade seems imminent at this point, and looks on pace to happen at some point on Wednesday. However, it's not quite there yet.

While MLB Network insider Jon Morosi said a deal was "finalized," SNY insider Andy Martino said a deal has not yet advanced to the point where the teams have said they have a deal. Additionally, no players have been informed yet.

This is not bad news at all, as trades take a long time to happen. The teams are going over medical information on all players, before finalizing an agreement.

The Padres are expected to send Soto and Trent Grisham to New York for Michael King, Drew Thorpe, Jhony Brito, Randy Vasquez and Kyle Higashioka. You can read more about those players here.

A Soto trade seems close, so stay tuned on insidethepadres.com for the updated information throughout the day on this potential blockbuster deal.
