Austin Nola has been the main catcher for the San Diego Padres since the 2020 season and he has developed into one of their most vocal leaders. He has been subject to different injuries while rocking the brown and gold but nonetheless he is always there for his team.

However, at the age off 33, his playing shell life is not super big and he has helped the Friars prepare for when its his time to hang it up. Insert Luis Campusano, one of the most highly-touted prospects for the Padres in recent history.

Campusano just kicked off his 2023 rookie season and actually debuted on Sunday against the Colorado Rockies. He was able to connect on a sacrifice fly ball that led to a run from his teammate and was counted as an RBI.

Both catchers have spoken on their tight-knit relationship multiple times and Nola has clearly taken the 24-year-old under his wing. While catching up with '97.3 The Fan', Nola revealed the most important advice he's given Campusano and the regular routine the two have gone through in preparation for the season.

"We're always talking, always communicating with pitchers because we know this thing can't be done alone," said Nola. We can't try to do everything by ourselves. We all have to try to help one another, I think that's a big thing. We all have to be with each other, helping one another." (Via 97.3 The Fan).

Nola recently made a speedy quick recovery after suffering a broken nose. His time in this league is well-respected and Campusano could not have a better role model to guide him.
