Padres Expert Argues That Juan Soto's Resurgence is Fraudulent
It has been super hard as of late for Padres fans to remain positive while their team has an early season identity crisis but one of the bright spots most of them do agree is Juan Soto.
After seeing him shake off numerous injuries and getting a ton of hits in the WBC and Spring Training, many believed that the 24-year-old slugger would revert back to his old ways with the Washington Nationals. But it has already been quite some time and we hadn't seen that version of Juan Soto just yet.
However, the past few weeks served as some mass improvement for Soto. He started finding his bat again and now has garnered a hit in 24 out of his 45 games played. There is still room for improvement but looking at his early season stats, you can't really complain much.
Soto's slash line has also moved up to .247/.399/.462. However, a certain Padres expert and personality believes that you should not be fooled by these numbers and revealed his harsh reality for the star outfielder.
The Hog Watch Is Always Watching
I don't think I've watched any Padres' content creator that has shown more passion this season while also keeping it very real at the same time after every game than Borna Nazari (creator of The Hog Watch).
If anybody would jump to the immediate conclusion that Juan Soto's hitting and stardom is back, it would be him. However, Borna has begged every fan to not get caught up in the advanced stats that highlight Soto's production lately and instead focus on his lack of hitting the ball in the opposite direction.
"You are going to see these advanced numbers from Juan Soto and you're gonna be like 'Wow Hog, those are incredible numbers'," said Borna. "Here's the one thing that you're not seeing. When you take a look at Juan Soto, all of those advanced numbers look good. But you know what's not good? Juan Soto is not hitting the ball the other way at all."

Borna went on to look back at Soto's time in Washington as a prime example of what he should be doing.
"We go to 2021, that is the Juan Soto that the San Diego Padres wanted," said Borna. "What people don't understand about Juan Soto is that what made him a Ted Williams-like comparison was that more than half of his damage came to the opposite side of the field as a left-hander."

We've already seen plenty of videos that show case Soto working on fixing this... now we just need the results.
