Following Thursday night's 7-6 loss against the Diamondbacks, the San Diego Padres currently sit at the bottom of the NL West with a 3-4 record and a lot to work on as a team.

The problems they are dealing with right now go beyond them missing Fernando Tatis Jr. and Joe Musgrove. Those two will certainly help in many ways when they're back in the lineup but its clear that the main problems fall on the bullpen and some questionable decision by Bob Melvin.

It has now been three games in a row where the Friars' starting pitcher finishes their throwing for the night and the relievers proceed to blow the lead that they were left with. The likes of Nabil Crismatt and Tim Hill have struggled to find footing and messed up the team's momentum that could've seen them defeat a rolling Braves squad.

Padres expert Borna Nazari was breaking down the loss in his postgame show on 'The Hog Watch' when he came across a viewer's comment that commended the Friars for almost winning. It's safe to say Borna did not feel the same way.

"That's the wrong mindset, Richard Cruz," said Borna. "You're telling me losing 6-7 is solid against these guys. We are the guys! We are the Padres! We're the ones that the Braves should be looking at going 'We only lost by one to the Padres.' That's the mindset that needs to change. We have Juan Soto, Manny Machado, Xander Bogaerts, Jake Cronenworth. We have the superteam."

Borna does make a great point in that San Diego should not be satisfied at all with these results. This is not last year where Manny Machado was the lone star for most of the season. They have the talent to win most games and certain areas of the roster just need to improve.
