In this story:

Nobody likes losing and the San Diego Padres have suffered plenty of that in these first two months of the 2023 MLB season. I'm not just talking about actual games that the squad has played either... this extends to the health of their roster, the expectations of fans, and even reportedly team chemistry.

If one thing has been clear during this surprisingly disappointing start for the Friars this year, it has been that fingers have never been pointed at anybody for their struggles. Bob Melvin is the one exception here because he is the team manager and the most he has done is simply remind the world that his stars are getting paid the big bucks and he wants results.

But now we have new reports surfacing and it is not looking things are as sunny within the Padres' clubhouse as we previously thought.

The San Diego-Union Tribune's Kevin Acee came out with a great piece detailing the many issues within the Padres' system right now and he revealed that the aura within the group is definitely down right now. He further expanded by saying that sources within the organization have claimed that the team began splitting apart about a month ago.

"Multiple people inside the organization and others close to some players began saying in late April that fissures were forming in the clubhouse. Here’s the thing: Even if everyone isn’t getting along all the time, it just shouldn’t matter. To think that all winning teams (or any winning teams) don’t have disagreements or some clashing personalities is grossly naive. Countless teammates on championship teams have been less than friendly. What needs to happen is that there is enough leadership and enough selflessness to become a team that does the little things in addition to the big things."(Via Kevin Acee)

It's no secret that the Padres' clubhouse is home to a lot of strong personalities that just want to win. Juan Soto is trying to prove his future with the organization and Manny Machado and the other stars are trying to show they deserved the contracts they received.

This is a squad that would be labeled a disappointment if they achieve anything less than a World Series with all of their star power.

The pressure can be a lot of times but I'm on board with Acee that as long as they start winning games, the chemistry will be just fine.
