Sometimes you just need the right situation to find success. It could take a few tries but eventually, things tend to work out. For new Padres catcher Gary Sanchez, San Diego has been good to him so far. The former All-Star had bounced around to different teams over the last couple of seasons but now he may have found a home in Southern California.

Entering Tuesday's game against the Cleveland Guardians, Sanchez had been making the most of his time with the Friars. He was hitting .255/.300/.681 in 50 plate appearances after batting just .195/.286/.392 in 1,096 plate appearances since 2020. It's quite the difference and apparent that Sanchez feels comfortable right now.

San Diego Union-Tribune Padres Insider Kevin Acee talked about Sanchez and his success in front of the Padres faithful at Petco Park entering the team's game Tuesday.

"Sánchez is batting .273/.360/.773 in 25 plate appearances at Petco Park, and his three home runs at the ballpark this season are tied for second most behind Tatis’ seven."

Per The San Diego Union-Tribune

His rise to success with the team wasn't foreseen. He was really struggling as a hitter when the team picked him up but his value has jumped and he has really helped the Padres turn things around so far.

“I don’t know,” Sánchez said through interpreter Danny Sanchez. “I mean, I don’t have a ton of experience playing in this stadium. But now that I’ve gotten the opportunity to go out and play in this ballpark, the results have been good so far. Hopefully, they continue to be good the more I play.”

If Sanchez can keep up this level of production, it'll be a great story. San Diego finally looked like a team capable of reaching the postseason and hopefully Sanchez is able to be apart of the potential run.
