Padres News: How Joe Musgrove's Gym Passion Led to Latest Investment
Padres star pitcher Joe Musgrove has mainly been in headlines this season thanks to a lingering foot injury. The 30-year-old has long been known to be one of the biggest gym rats in the MLB and this was unfortunately how he sustained that injury near the kickoff of Spring Training.
One may think that dropping a kettle ball on his foot would've kept him away from the weight room for a while but it appears that it has been the exact opposite. He has gone twice as hard with his routine as he worked his way back into playing shape and knew that was going to be his key to a speed return.
Musgrove recently made his season debut against the Arizona Diamondbacks, a testament to his hard work.

San Diego's superstar pitcher is ensuring that other baseball players on the rise will have access to the same facilities that he has had to make him millions of dollars and help him keep his body strong through any injuries.
Musgrove, along with the support of his trainer, will be launching a training facility with top of the line equipment and machines right near Petco Park. The big idea behind this is to give kids the chance to get familiar with different workouts and body routines that will enhance their athletic and baseball abilities.
“We’ll run camps, we’re going to do all kind of seminars and certifications, whether it’s cold tub stuff or breathing seminars or all these things that I enjoy and I like,” Musgrove said. “I’ll do them myself and invite people to do it with me in the offseason. It’ll be sweet." (Via The Athletic)
“I’ve just seen the difference in my performance when I do all those things, and I’m trying to pass that on to the next wave of guys that are coming, that I didn’t have when I was their age," said Musgrove.
