After a slow start to the season, the San Diego Padres have started to put things together. They finally are looking like the team that many believed that they would be prior to the start of the year. Part of this is due to the pure star power of shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr., who after a suspension is back and playing some of the best baseball of his career.

In the team's 5-0 win over the Cleveland Guardians on Wednesday, Tatis Jr. did it all. He homered, doubled twice, stole a few bases and even made some excellent catches in the outfield. He has been the engine for this Padres team and they feed off his energy.

“This is the first game that I feel like I’ve put everything in one game,” Tatis said. “There’s stuff that you can’t control. But I’m just grateful that it happened.”

Per MLB.com

What Tatis. Jr did on Wednesday night was historic. No really, he became the first player in the Modern Era to have a stat line like that. A home run, three extra base hits, scored twice, stole two bases, got a walk and an outfield assist.

Tatis Jr. is one of the more exciting young players around baseball and for good reason. He can do it all and the Padres are benefitting from it.

Tatis Jr. finally getting hot this season has allowed the Padres to play more freely. He has helped bring them back to life and now they are a team to be feared again. Many believed that they would dominant this season and while they haven't so far, there is a ton of season left.
