The Padres will be international bound once again as they will open up the 2024 season in Seoul, South Korea.

The game is the latest installment in the MLB's World Tour Series. The Friars will be taking on the Dodgers in the first regular season games to be played in Korea.

The games will take place March 20-21 and will be the first games to be played in the MLB's regular season.

The games in Korea will be the second time in Padres franchise history they've opened their season internationally. In 1999, the team played in Mexico against the Rockies to begin the year.

This will be the second consecutive season that the Padres will play a series outside of the United States or Canada.

Earlier this year the Padres swept the Giants in Mexico City. The games in Mexico made headlines as the Padres scored 22 runs in two games.

When the Padres return to Korea it will be the first time Ha-Seong Kim will play in his native country since leaving the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO).

Kim was a star in Korea as he won three Korean Gold Glove awards in three consecutive years. He expressed his excitement over the series being officially announced.

The Padres-Dodgers game in Korea will be the second installment of the MLB World Tour in 2024.

During Spring Training, the Red Sox and Rays will play a pair of games in the Dominican Republic. The Mexico City games will be played again, this time between the Astros and Rockies in April.

The last international games will take place in London in June between the Phillies and Mets.

When the Dodgers and Padres open the season, not only will MLB history be made, but so will Korea.
