Zac Gallen Roasts Philadelphia Phillies Fans After Crushing Loss
After watching their team blow a 3-2 series lead against the Arizona Diamondbacks in the NLCS, Philadelphia Phillies fans are in a bad place right now.
For the second year in a row, their team came agonizingly close to winning a championship, only to fall just short at the end of the season.
Having their hearts ripped out like that is bad enough, but it's even worse when the winning side rubs it in.
That's what Diamondbacks pitcher Zac Gallen did Wednesday when he shared a social media post that was a clear dig at Phillies fans.
Gallen posted a screenshot to X (formerly Twitter) of a Google search on his phone for "phillies spring training" with the caption "Make sure to get those tix for your next game."
Ouch.
Philadelphia fans have to wait four months to watch their team play again. Arizona fans only have to wait until Friday, when Gallen will take the ball in Game 1 of the World Series against the Texas Rangers.
It was a good shot on Gallen's part and it got a lot of traction on X.
As of Wednesday night, his post had racked up over 15,000 likes and 2,500 reposts.
The worst part for Phillies fans is, Gallen didn't even do anything to help his team win.
He lost both of his starts in the NLCS as Philadelphia teed off on him for nine runs and 14 hits (including five home runs) in 11 innings.
It'd be one thing if Gallen had actually contributed to the Diamondbacks' success, but he didn't.
In fact, they nearly lost the series because of him.
But he gets to pitch in the World Series , while the Phillies sit at home and watch him on the couch.
