Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager was selected as the team's Player of the Month for June, the club announced on Sunday.

Seager returned to the lineup on May 17 after missing 31 games with a left hamstring strain. He picked up where he left off before the injury and that built into his incredible June.

Seager slashed .368/.442/.642/1.083 (39-for-106) with five home runs and 25 RBI in 26 games.

He ranked among American League leaders in June in doubles (1st, 14), hits (2nd, 39), extra-base hits (2nd, 19), total bases (2nd, 68), OPS (2nd) and RBI (2nd).

The only AL player ahead of him in those last five categories was the Los Angeles Angels' Shohei Ohtani.

This is the second time Seager has won the club's monthly award, also doing so in July 2022.

Outfielder Adolis García won the monthly award for March/April and pitcher Nathan Eovaldi claimed in in May.

Seager was selected by media members and broadcasters who cover the club on a regular basis.
