Watch: Eva Longoria Wins Over Texas Rangers Fans With First Pitch
If only Eva Longoria could throw out every Texas Rangers first pitch.
Good vibes have filled Globe Life Field all season and this week was no different as the accomplished Hollywood actress, director and producer delighted the crowd – and fans across the internet – with her ceremonial toss Wednesday before the St. Louis Cardinals game.
Video of the first pitch from Longoria, shared by the Rangers on Twitter, didn’t show where the pitch went.
It didn’t matter.
The Desperate Housewives star and native Texan told the story with her enthusiasm as she jumped and smiled and thrust her arms in the air. The roar of the fans, plus the standing ovation, just added to it all.
Longoria, decked out in a Rangers jersey, grew up in Corpus Christi, which has long been considered Houston Astros country. The coastal town is also home to the Astros’ Double-A affiliate Corpus Christi Hooks.
Maybe Longoria just likes the feel of first place.
She is no stranger to pro sports in the Lone Star State, being once married to longtime San Antonio Spurs star Tony Parker. The couple divorced in 2011.
The Rangers jersey suits Longoria now. Hopefully, more first pitches to come …
