Home runs by Josh Jung, Jonah Heim and Corey Seager led the Texas Rangers to a 4-2 win over the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday afternoon at Globe Life Field.

The Rangers (43-27) had lost seven of their past nine games going into Saturday’s contest. The win evened the series with the Blue Jays (39-32), which concludes on Sunday. Texas maintained its 3 1/2-game lead atop the American League West.

Jung’s two-run, second-inning homer against Toronto starter Trevor Richards (0-1) gave the Rangers a 2-1 lead. Heim followed with a solo homer that stretched the lead to 3-1.

Jung just missed a second homer, but his opposite-field shot to right field was overturned after replay determined it was foul.

Seager's solo homer in the seventh gave the Rangers a 4-2 cushion after the Blue Jays made it a one-run game.

Rangers starter Dane Dunning (6-1) allowed two runs on six hits and a walk. He walked five in his last start.

The Blue Jays led 1-0 after Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s single to left scored Bo Bichette in the first. Daulton Varsho’s 12th homer in the fourth off Dunning cut the Rangers’ lead to 3-2.
