Texas Rangers manager Bruce Bochy made the expected official during an appearance on 105.3 The Fan on Monday, confirming his return in 2024.

"If CY changes his mind, I get it," Bochy joked, referring to general manager Chris Young.

Bochy just led the Rangers to their first World Series title last week. It was the fourth title of the future Hall of Famer’s career.

Bochy signed a three-year contract with the Rangers before the 2023 season. He was just named a finalist for the AL Manager of the Year award on Monday, joining Tampa Bay’s Kevin Cash and Baltimore’s Brandon Hyde.

Bochy helped engineer the largest increase in regular-season winning percentage from 2022 to 2023 among the 30 MLB clubs. The Rangers went from winning 68 games in 2022 to 90 games in 2023. That snapped a streak of six straight losing seasons for Texas.

The 68-year-old Bochy wrapped up his 26th year as a MLB manager, dating back to 1995 with the San Diego Padres. He now has 2,093 wins for his career, putting him No. 10 in all-time wins.

Bochy could rank No. 6 all-time in wins by the end of the next season, as four managers are within 101 wins of him — Joe McCarthy (2,125), Bucky Harris (2,158), Dusty Baker (2,183) and Sparky Anderson (2,194).

Bochy is also part of a select group of managers with at least four World Series titles, with McCarthy and Casey Stengel with seven each. Connie Mack has five.

Who is AL MVP? Seager, Semien or Ohtani?
