Texas Rangers Manager Bruce Bochy Shares Sympathies for Allen Mall Shooting
Texas Rangers manager Bruce Bochy took a moment to address the mass shooting in Allen on Saturday after the 10-1 victory over the Los Angeles Angels.
Before answering a question about the game, Bochy turned his attention to the act of gun violence at the Allen Outlet Malls.
“We want to give our condolences to the victims of the tragedy in Allen and our thoughts are with them and it just breaks our hearts,” Bochy said. “We’re all praying for all of them.”
Saturday’s shooting at an Allen mall happened before the game started in Los Angeles, but details began to emerge throughout the evening. Allen is about 25 miles north of Dallas.
Eight people were murdered and seven people were injured, according to reports. The gunman was also killed.
The Rangers made a donation to the victims of last year’s Uvalde shooting at Robb Elementary School. Uvalde is about 75 miles west of San Antonio. That mass shooting killed 21 people, including 19 children, and injured 17 more.
