Texas Rangers Jump in Power Rankings Following Strong Week
The Texas Rangers are exceeding expectations in the early going of the 2023 MLB season. In what seems like the first time in a long time, the Rangers are expected to beat the weaker teams and compete well with the juggernauts.
They did the former last week going 5-1 against the Kansas City Royals and Oakland Athletics.
Texas is now making plenty of noise and the folks over at MLB.com took notice in their latest power rankings released Monday.
The Rangers bumped up from the No. 12 spot to 11.
Texas outscored its opponents 55-15 last week en route to some historic performances. American League Player of the Week Adolis García delivered a historic performance with three home runs and two doubles on Saturday, while the offense continues to click.
While power rankings don't mean much outside of bragging rights, it is still a positive indicator of where this team is currently and where it could be going.
The Rangers are in the midst of a three-game series with Cincinnati Reds after dropping the first one 7-6 on Monday night. Texas plays host to the New York Yankees for a four-game series beginning Thursday.
