The re-ranking of the Top 100 prospects by MLB.com has led to a reshuffling of the Top 30 prospects for each team.

The official website also put together a list of the biggest ranking climbers for all 30 clubs. The choice for the Texas Rangers is a middle infielder currently toiling for the High-A Hickory Crawdads.

Cameron Cauley, a shortstop and second baseman, has gone from unranked in the previous Top 30 for Texas all the way up to No. 13. That’s quite a jump for the 20-year-old Houston native.

Per MLB.com:

Cauley’s hitting ability and big swagger in a small frame drew comparisons to Dustin Pedroia when he signed for an over-slot $1 million as a third-round pick in 2021. The Texas high school product has had some swing-and-miss issues in pro ball, but he’s driving the ball with authority, displaying plus-plus speed and providing quality defense at shortstop. He’s hitting .250/.328/.427 with 30 extra-base knocks and 29 steals in 82 games between Single-A and High-A.

Cauley had a combined 10 home runs this season and 48 RBI, to go along with 56 runs and 31 steals. He was promoted from the Low-A Down East Wood Ducks on July 18.

Cauley is also teammates with Wyatt Langford, the Rangers’ recent first-round pick from the University of Florida. Langford debuted with Hickory about a week ago and is off to a fast start to his professional career.

Wyatt debuted at No. 2 on the Rangers’ Top 30, behind only Frisco RoughRiders (AA) outfielder Evan Carter.
