ARLINGTON, Texas — Texas Rangers second baseman Marcus Semien is the leading All-Star Game vote-getter at his position and four of his teammates would advance to the second phase of voting, based on the initial results released Monday.

Voting continues through June 22. The top two vote-getters at each position — along with the top six vote-getters in the outfield — advance to the second round to determine All-Star Game starters.

The Midsummer Classic is set for June 11 in Seattle.

Semien has received 707,712 votes as of Monday. He last made the All-Star Game in 2021. He is well ahead of Houston Astros’ Jose Altuve, who is in second place with 363,013 votes. Altuve has missed most of the season due to injuries.

Rangers catcher Jonah Heim, third baseman Josh Jung and shortstop Corey Seager are second at their respective positions.

Heim (320,028) is behind Baltimore Orioles’ rookie sensation Adley Rutschman (460,496).

Jung, a candidate for AL Rookie of the Year like Rutschman, has 470,836 votes and is behind only Toronto Blue Jays’ Matt Chapman (475,322).

Seager missed a month with a hamstring injury but is driving in more than one run per game this season. His 376,659 votes is behind only Toronto’s Bo Bichette (775,221). Seager made last year’s All-Star Game as an injury replacement.

Adolis García is the only Rangers outfielder among the top six in that group, which would allow him to advance. He’s received 300,968 votes. Ahead of him are New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge (844,965), Los Angeles Angels’ Mike Trout (598,918), Houston’s Yordan Alvarez (571,986), Tampa Bay’s Randy Arozarena (532,489) and Toronto’s Kevin Kiermaier (322,341).

Other vote-getters of note for the Rangers included designated hitter Robbie Grossman (3rd, 129,623), first baseman Nathaniel Lowe (4th, 192,643), outfielder Ezequiel Duran (11th, 206,475) and outfielder Leody Taveras (13th, 164,851).

The MLB All-Star Ballot, which is available exclusively online and via mobile devices at MLB.com/vote, all 30 club websites, the MLB App and the MLB Ballpark App, will be accessible until the voting period for Phase 1 concludes at 11 a.m. CT on June 22.

During the initial voting period, fans can submit up to five ballots per 24-hour period.

On June 22, the top two vote-getters at each position and the top six outfielders in each league will be revealed on MLB Network at 5 p.m. CT, and they will advance to the second phase of voting to determine who makes the All-Star teams and starts for each league.

The leading vote-getter in each league during the first phase of voting will receive an automatic starting assignment at the All-Star Game and bypass the second phase of voting.
