Watch: Bradish Exits Rangers Game After Drilled by Liner
ARLINGTON, Texas – Baltimore Orioles starter Kyle Bradish exited Monday night's game after being hit in the right foot by a 104 mph line drive from Texas Rangers catcher Jonah Heim.
The right-hander immediately fell to the ground, as the ball ricocheted towards first base. Bradish was attended by the Orioles training staff before limping off the field at Globe Life Field.
Baltimore trainers came out to attend to Bradish, who threw one warmup pitch but lost his balance on his follow through. He left the game limping and was replaced by lefty Danny Coulombe.
Bradish had pitched 1 2/3 innings and had given up just one hit, a single to Josh Jung. The right-hander was finding success against the Rangers offense and had his slider working.
Coulombe struck out Rangers designated Brad Miller with two on to end the inning.
Bradish posted a 4.90 ERA over the course of 117 2/3 innings during the 2022 MLB season.
Texas is looking to start its season 4-0 for the first time since 1992. It would be tied for their fourth-longest winning streak to start a season in franchise history.
