Watch: Corey Seager Blasts First Home Run of Season, Ties Game Against Royals

Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager launched his first home run of the 2023 MLB season off of Kansas City Royals starter Zack Greinke in the first inning Monday night.

Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager hit his first home run of the 2023 MLB season Monday night at Globe Life Field. It could not have come at a better time.

Down 1-0 in the first inning, Seager launched a solo shot into the Rangers bullpen to tie the game at 1-1.

Seager's shot came off of Kansas City Royals veteran starting pitcher Zack Greinke.

The ball traveled 395 feet, came off the bat at 104.5-mph and had a launch angle of 23 degrees.

Texas has had issues getting their offense started in numerous games this season, a first inning home run could be the catalyst this lineup needs to kick start a big night.

The Rangers hope take advantage of the Royals (3-7) and move back into first place in the American League West on this homestand.

Texas starter Andrew Heaney could also use the run support after a lackluster first start. The lefty was roughed up a week against by the Baltimore Orioles.
