Watch: Matthew McConaughey Intros Kenny Chesney at TEX Gala

The third annual TEX Gala, hosted by the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation, took place Thursday night at Globe Life Field.

“Alright, alright, alright.”

Matthew McConaughey did a scaled back version of his signature catchphrase, but there was nothing scaled back about third annual TEX Gala, hosted by the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation on Thursday night and presenting Choctaw Casinos & Resorts at Globe Life Field.

The TEX Gala included a live performance by eight-time Entertainer of the Year Kenny Chesney, meet and greets for Rangers players, coaches and alumni, a silent and live auction, and a special guest appearance by McConaughey.

The Academy Award winner, who introduced Chesney, has partnered with the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation for years.

“I wanna thank the Texas Rangers foundation,” McConaughey said. “They’ve been a great partner with me and my wife’s foundation, the just keep livin Foundation, for years. They were actually the first partners that we took on. The first people to partner with us over 10 year ago. We’ve had a partnership for that long and we’re going to keep on going.”

The TEX Gala raised an estimated $2 million, with proceeds benefiting the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation and its mission to improve the lives of children, military, first responders and their families in the North Texas community and beyond. The three TEX Galas have raised more than $5.4 million.
