There still are plenty of players available in free agency with ties to the Boston Red Sox.

Former Red Sox fan-favorite Enrique Hernández is one of the players still looking for his next opportunity. He joined the Red Sox ahead of the 2021 season and quickly became a beloved figure in the organization.

He struggled on the field with the team in 2023 though and eventually was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The veteran utility man had a solid second half of the season and has been linked to multiple clubs.

One team that reportedly is considering a signing is the Los Angeles Angeles, according to the New York Post's Jon Heyman.

"The Angels have been mulling whether to make a run at big-time free agents (Blake Snell), (Jordan Montgomery), or Cody Bellinger," Heyman said. "But they are also looking at depth pieces and are said to be considering former (New York Met) Amed Rosario, Kiké Hernandez, and a solid back-end starter like (Michael Lorenzen), an Orange County and Cal-State Fullerton product who may like the idea of going home."

Hernández is a 10-year big league veteran who can help out all over the diamond. He struggled at shortstop in 2023 but is an above-average defensive outfielder. Overall, he saw time at first base, second base, shortstop, third base, left field, center field, and right field last season.

Los Angeles still is looking to add after losing two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani this offseason. Landing Hernández certainly wouldn't fill the hole left by Ohtani, but he could provide the club more depth at multiple positions.
