One former member of the Boston Red Sox certainly has a robust free-agent market.

Former Red Sox fan-favorite Justin Turner impressed last season with Boston but now is a free agent again after opting out of his contract.

Turner has been one of the most talked about offensive free agents this offseason but hasn't found a new home yet. Some have speculated a reunion with Boston is a possibility, but a move doesn't seem likely at this point.

One club that could end up being an option to land Turner is the Toronto Blue Jays, according to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal.

"Outside of Cody Bellinger, the list of remaining left-handed hitting free agents include Brandon Belt, Eddie Rosario, Mike Moustakas, Joey Votto, and switch-hitter Aaron Hicks," Rosenthal said. "If the Jays do not want to pay for Bellinger -- they already are up against the first luxury-tax threshold, and signing Bellinger could take them past the second -- perhaps they will just acquire a right-handed hitter who can handle right-handed pitching instead.

"Among the possibilities: J.D. Martinez (.880 OPS vs. righties last season, .846 for his career), Justin Turner (.766, .830), Matt Chapman (.722, .783), Jorge Soler (.788, .774), Tommy Pham (.768, .767), and Adam Duvall (.863, .760).

Turner was impressive with the Red Sox on the field last season but also quickly became a fan favorite across Boston and a leader in the clubhouse.

The 39-year-old likely will end up playing elsewhere in 2024 and it wouldn't be too surprising to see the Blue Jays swoop in and get a deal done.
