The Boston Red Sox are going to look different in 2024.

That isn't surprising. Boston won just 78 games in 2023 and although the club made some positive strides, there's still plenty of work to do. There's sure to be plenty of turnover on the roster -- especially after signing multiple one-year deals in free agency last year. One player who could find himself playing elsewhere is slugger Adam Duvall and the New York Mets could be a fit, according to SNY's Danny Abriano.

"Their only returning starting outfielder is (Brandon Nimmo), and they can theoretically have Jeff McNeil play one of the corner spots," Abriano said. "But they're going to have to add another starting-caliber outfielder. Joc Pederson, Adam Duvall, and old friend Tommy Pham are among the free agent options."

Duvall had an intriguing season with Boston in 2023. The one-time All-Star signed with the Red Sox as a free agent last offseason after spending the 2022 campaign with the Atlanta Braves. Duvall appeared in 92 games with the Red Sox this season and clubbed 21 home runs to go along with 58 RBIs, 24 doubles, and a .247/.303/.531 slash line.

The 35-year-old was one of the hottest hitters on the planet to kick off the 2023 season before a wrist injury derailed his season. Once he eventually returned, he was rusty but eventually got back into the swing of things. With a lackluster offensive free agent class, Duvall is likely going to have a solid market. It's unclear if there's space for him in Boston with Jarren Duran, Masataka Yoshida, Alex Verdugo, and Wilyer Abreu all under contract. There's a chance this changes with a trade or two, but unless some moves are made, Duvall likely will sign elsewhere and New York could make sense.
