The Boston Red Sox need all hands on deck at this time.

Boston currently is four-and-a-half games out of an American League Wild Card spot with just 31 games left in the regular season. The Red Sox widely were expected to finish below .500 this season but the club certainly has surprised people. At this point, the Red Sox are within striking distance of a postseason spot and if they are going to gain ground in the standings will need all of the help they can get.

The Red Sox had a mini scare this past weekend as star third baseman Rafael Devers was hit on the wrist with a pitch and then eventually scratched from the lineup. Devers reportedly will be okay and could be back in the lineup as soon as Monday, according to The Athletic's Jen McCaffrey.

"The one piece of good news out of Sunday was that Rafael Devers, who was hit on the wrist Saturday and scratched from Sunday's lineup, is feeling better," McCaffrey said. "X-rays were negative and (manager Alex Cora) said he hopes Devers will be back in the lineup Monday or Tuesday."

If the Red Sox were to miss Devers for an extended period of time, it certainly would lower the club's chances of nabbing a postseason spot. Boston has its work cut out for it doesn't have the greatest odds of making the playoffs, but the fact that Devers is okay should at least give Red Sox fans comfort.
