Twins Could Land Ex-Red Sox Slugger This Offseason According To Insider
One former member of the Boston Red Sox could be playing elsewhere when the 2024 campaign rolls around.
Boston signed outfielder Adam Duvall ahead of the 2023 campaign and he was impressive in his lone season with the Red Sox. He was red-hot out the gate and was one of the best hitters in baseball for a time but a wrist injury forced him to miss time. When he returned he played steady defense and helped out the middle of the Red Sox lineup.
While it's possible Duvall could return to the Red Sox, at this point it appears unlikely. If he signs elsewhere, one team that could be an option is the Minnesota Twins, according to MLB.com's Mark Feinsand.
"With Joey Gallo likely to depart via free agency and Max Kepler potentially on the trade block, the Twins could use another power bat in the outfield," Feinsand said. "Duvall hits lefties and righties well and can play all three outfield spots."
Feinsand put together a list of free agent targets for each Major League Baseball team this offseason and linked the Twins to Duvall. This isn't too surprising. The position-player free-agent market is thin and Duvall is one of the better players available. He clubbed 21 home runs and drove in 58 runs last year while providing solid defense in 92 games played. He can play all three outfield spots and has a Gold Glove Award under his belt, as well.
He's a cheaper option than someone like Chicago Cubs star Cody Bellinger and certainly would help any team that decides to bring him in.
