The New York Yankees are looking for bullpen help.

New York has had a flashy offseason, to say the least. The Yankees already have added former San Diego Padres outfielders Juan Soto and Trent Grisham as well as former Boston Red Sox outfielder Alex Verdugo.

The Yankees now are looking to improve the starting rotation and are heavily pursuing Orix Buffaloes ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto. New York likely will find out if it lands Yamamoto in the next week and if it fails to do so will turn its attention to other pitchers like Jordan Montgomery.

Another area the club needs to improve is the bullpen. New York had the best bullpen in baseball last season but could lose a couple of important pieces this offseason in free agency. The Yankees already have looked into signing top arms -- like former St. Louis Cardinals and Toronto Blue Jays fireballer Jordan Hicks -- but likely need more depth as well.

New York made a move to do so just last Monday as the club reportedly signed former Red Sox pitcher Oddanier Mosqueda to a minor league deal, according to Beyond The Monster's Chris Henrique.

"Former (Worcester Red Sox) lefty Oddanier Mosqueda has signed a minor league deal with the New York Yankees, per his IG story," Henrique said.

Mosqueda spent the 2023 campaign with the Triple-A Worcester Red Sox and logged a 5.31 ERA in 48 appearances. It's unclear what role he will play with New York, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him make his big league debut with the team next season.

If Mosqueda can have a solid spring training, maybe he could even make the big league club's Opening Day roster.
