There likely will be a bevy of additions over the next few weeks.

Spring Training is on the horizon and approaching fast. There still are some very solid free agents available looking for new homes. One former member of the New York Yankees certainly fits this description.

Former Yankees utility man Gio Urshela spent the 2023 campaign with the Los Angeles Angels but appeared in just 62 games due to injuries. He was solid when he was on the field and slashed .299/.329/.374, but wasn't able to stay on the field.

He now is a free agent and it sounds like he has a robust market. The Yankees have been mentioned as a possible option for him but if they want to land him, they will have competition as the New York Mets and Miami Marlins both have shown interest in a move, according to MLB Network's Jon Morosi.

"Free agent (infielder) Gio Urshela has drawn interest from the Mets, Marlins, and Yankees, a source confirms," Morosi said. "Urshela, 32, posted a .703 OPS in 62 games with the Angels last year."

Urshela spent three seasons with the Yankees and was impressive. Over that stretch, he launched 41 home runs, drove in 153 runs, and slashed .292/.335/.480 across 291 total appearances.

New York traded Urshela to the Minnesota Twins ahead of the 2022 campaign and then was traded to the Angels ahead of the 2023 season.

It's unclear where he will land but it's clear that multiple clubs are pursuing him in free agency.
