German was hit with a 10-game suspension as a result of getting ejected for a foreign substance. He will not appeal it and is eligible to return on May 28.

As YES Network broadcaster Michael Kay pointed out, the umpiring crew examined German's hands before the fourth inning began. Typically, umpires look at the pitcher's hands after an inning.

This wasn't German's first incident of using sticky substances this season. The first time came against the Twins back in April, where he was ordered to wash his hands, but he was not ejected from the game.

Mets starter Max Scherzer was the other pitcher, who was ejected for sticky substances this season. He served his 10-game suspension and did not appeal.
