The Charlotte Hornets have announced forward Noah Vonleh will miss approximately 6-8 weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a sports hernia.

Vonleh sustained the hernia in workouts.
Celtics' Rondo, agent deny reported trade request
The Hornets selected Vonleh as the No. 9 pick in the 2014 NBA draft. He was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year after averaging 11.3 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.4 blocks last season at Indiana.
Charlotte opens the 2014-15 season on Oct. 29 against the Milwaukee Bucks.
