Lakers Fans Ruthlessly Jeered Grizzlies’ Dillon Brooks After Game 6 Rout
Grizzlies swingman Dillon Brooks talked a big game about beating the Lakers up to and during Memphis’ first-round playoff series against Los Angeles.
However, Brooks and the Grizzlies were sent into the offseason in ignominious fashion Friday night. The Lakers housed Memphis 125-85 in Game 6 to advance to the Western Conference semifinals.
It was an anticlimactic conclusion to a matchup that Brooks said he “wouldn’t mind” on April 11. Brooks then poured gasoline on the fire and started by suggesting Los Angeles forward LeBron James was “old” after the Grizzlies took Game 2 on April 19.
Lakers fans responded by letting Brooks have it as he walked to Memphis’ team bus after Game 6.
In a viral 30-second video, Brooks is mercilessly booed. One fan seems to yell ,”You’re fine in the West!” mocking Grizzlies guard Ja Morant’s proclamation from earlier this season.
Brooks, who also made enemies in San Francisco and Cleveland this season, is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
